Course History of EDUC 515

This is my course history of Evolving Technologies, EDUC 515 at Azusa Pacific University. My instructor is Jeff McKendricks. In this course, I have created 3 podcasts, one of which I turned into a vodcast, 4 websites in which to display information to my future classroom, and also a PowerPoint presentation tracing the evolution of electronic storage devices.

In this class I have learned to do a large number of things. Aside from social networking sites such as myspace and facebook, I have never worked on creating or customizing a website. I was surprised to see how many websites were so user friendly and others that weren't. I personally prefer using blogger.com because it is very easy to upload various videos and links. However I feel that family lobby was easy when it came to uploading audio files. On top of learning how to create websites, I also learned how to use GarageBand and iMovie. These programs are so useful when it comes to learning how to create podcasts and vodcasts. These programs are really so user friendly once you familiarize yourself with what they can do. This class has been so helpful in many ways. I don't believe I would have ever tried to put these programs to use. But now I am confident in using these programs. I will be able to continue using these technologies throughout my teaching career as I evolve as an instructor.

Aha moments are something that were not hard to come by. I had several of them in each class meeting. One of my favorite aha moments was learning how easy it was to create a podcast. As I created one, I began to feel very excited as I added music to my own voice. I loved even more how easily I was able to create a vodcast from one of my podcasts. As I played certain music with my photos I felt so elated. And to see my creation come to life in a full video is amazing.

About Me...

Here is a little bit of information about myself in case you were interested!

Miss Witt

Hello my name is Melissa Witt. In just 7 short months I will be Melissa Wagner as I will be getting married to my boyfriend of 7 years. No matter what we do, we always have such a great time together. I look forward to starting our marriage and eventually having a family and a home of our own. I consider myself to be a very family oriented person. I have 2 very loving parents who have been married for just over 28 years. I also have 2 sisters. One is two years older than me, and the other is 6 years younger than me. I try to talk to each of them at least once a week if not more. As well as my family, I enjoy spending time with my friends. I am a fortunate person to have the amazing friends I do. They really know how to lift me up when I’m feeling down. I am currently a student at Azusa Pacific University where I am working on my multiple subject teaching credential as well as a Master’s Degree. I attend classes at a convenient satellite campus, which is located in the city of Orange right near Angel’s Stadium. I earn my money at two different jobs. First, I work as a lifeguard for the city of Santa Fe Springs. I have been there since I was 17 and I love being around my coworkers and the amazing residents that continue to give our pool their patronage. I also teach P.E. 3 days a week for the Little Lake City School District. I truly enjoy being outside and exercising, so this job is right up my alley. I look forward to completing my degree and eventually having a classroom of my own. Working with kids is one of my most favorite things and I hope to make an impact on at least one student throughout my career as a teacher.
